How does this all work?
Maybe this is your child's first birthday, or just the first time you decided to hire outside entertainment. You have many questions and every one of them is valid. You get one chance every year to make a great memory for your child and you want to be sure you've covered all your bases.
First decide on your party date. You may need to call other key family members and friends to be sure they haven't planned something on the same day.
Next, decide on your venue. Restaurants, catering halls, fire halls, VFW's, Mason lodges, American Legions are some popular choices. You may decide to have entertainment come to your child's school, preschool, or daycare. Please ask the teacher or principal if this is permissible.
Are you going to have a theme? It's not necessary, but for some people, it gives them some direction to go in.
Decide who you will invite. Will it be your child's entire 3rd grade class? Will only a handful of children be invited? There is no set number for a party.
Decide on a budget. Discuss with everyone involved in making this decision how much you are planning to spend on entertainment.
Our performers are top notch, and our quality is high. We have only a handful of excellent performers to maintain quality control, and make sure every party is consistent with our high standards.
Check out reviews on different entertainment companies. See if friends or family have used anyone they consider reputable. Call them. Do they answer your questions, return your phone calls or email? Seem to care that you want to make your child's day special?

Who will come to my child's party?
Far Out Parties is a small, family owned organization. We have a handful of quality performers who have proven thier skill and most importantly, their ability to interact with children. We will never send you an inexperienced teenager to entertain your children. Once our performers are booked for a specific date, we suggest another company. This keeps our quality high, and assures that your expectations are met and exceeded.

How much is the deposit
How much is required for a deposit?
Deposits are generally $75 unless we are purchasing additional items such as party favors and game prizes for your party. Deposits may be made by credit card over the phone, by mail, or by paypal using FarOutParties_gmail.com email address. The balance is due in cash to the entertainer performing at your event.

How far ahead should I book?
We suggest that you book as far in advance as possible. Once we get a deposit, we hold that date and time for the client.. Its best that you hold your time slot before someone else gets it.
What is your refund policy
What is your refund policy?
We do realize things happen. Plans must change for one reason or another. This is why we allow you a full refund 3 weeks ahead of your event. Half refund two weeks before the event. No refund within 7 days of the event. If you reschedule, however, we are happy to accommodate your new date and time, within a year of the event.
Who are considered children
Who are considered children?
This is a tough one. We've had 15 year olds say "I'm a child, I want my face painted." Some children do, some don't. What about babies? Some parents will insist their infant gets painted. We do our best, but holding down a screaming child to be painted does not a good memory make. We try to take the youngest to the oldest. If we notice the older teenagers are lining up to get their faces painted, we will ask you if you would like to purchase more time.
Why charge for extra children
Why is there a charge for extra children?
We know how many children we can easily entertain in a certain amount of time. We charge the extra fee per child to be sure we have alotted enough time to make sure all children have been given adequate attention. If more children attend the party than you had anticipated, we may only have time for one activity. For example, you say 10 children will attend your party and 30 show up. We may have time to only make balloon animals instead of both face painting and balloon animlas. If we do not have another event to attend, you have the option of paying for extra time (generally $50 per half hour) .
What if less children show up
What if I thought more children would attend than actually showed up?
We have already alotted for the time needed for the higher number of children, and arranged our schedule accordingly. You are still responsible for the fee for the higher amount even if the other children do not attend. However, we WILL stay the agreed upon amount of time, so adults may get face painted, get balloon animals, and children may come back for painting on their arms and legs.
What time should you come
What time should I have entertainment?
We always say, you know your friends and family best. If you know they usually come two hours later than the start time of an event, you may want to plan accordingly. However, if you're planning a two hour party, we can come right at the start, and begin face painting so as soon as the children arrive, they will have an acitivity .
Please do not plan the meal, cake, pinata or other activities during the time you have Far Out Parties entertainment booked. We have a very busy schedule and cannot always stay past our alotted time for your party.

Generally, our hourly rate is $125 per hour, per performer with a two hour minimum. Call for multi hour discounts.
Why a contract
Why do I need a contract?
Contracts are a great way to make sure we have our facts straight. It also helps you to see exactly what you can expect.
Contracts may be mailed to the address at the top, or scanned and emailed back once signed.
If you choose to make your deposit by check, it may be sent along with your contract.

We don't mind questions, in fact, we welcome them. When you are planning a special day for a very important person, we realize you want to know exactly what you can expect.
